Design Brief
The Victorian project is located in a conservation area, just off Fulham Road in London.
The design brief drew inspiration from the industrial processes of the Victorian era, combined with elements of Victorian design chic.
Spaces were designed to accommodate our client’s wide-ranging art collection, which was also used to guide the mood of the interior scheme.
Interior Design
The Victorian inspired interior design used bold colour and a variety of textures to characterise the interior. The approach was to create an open, yet functional layout that flowed effortlessly between each space.
The kitchen was designed in collaboration with MannMade London. The units are spray-lacquered in charcoal with brass handles. The tops are a beautifully-veined Carrara marble.
Design Details
The dining area involved a full rethink of the internal and external use of the home. Large expanses of the building were demolished to make way for new interior ideas.
Structural glazing to the side of the house maximizes on light coming into the dining area.
Dark tones were used for the structural elements to highlight their importance within the space.
Period features were either retained or reinstated to combine the Victorian aesthetic with the modern design.
A double-height living room in the basement extension creates a multi-purpose living and music room that looks out through original timber-framed windows onto an external light-well.
Furniture Design
Handmade using a dark, distressed veneer custom-made furniture by MannMade London features throughout.
