Design Brief
Seymour is a Georgian house located in a conservation area off the Fulham Road in Chelsea, London.
The home refurbishment of Seymour revolved around the need for more space, but also volume. We developed a design brief in collaboration with our client to create a family home; where the home was considered more as a destination, rather than purely a place to live.
We looked at where we could push the boundaries of conventional design, and take the commonplace living environment and transform into a volumetric experience of movement, light, and texture.
Interior Design
Within the new layouts we installed feature lighting, a dark colour palette, wall paneling and parquet flooring that breathe new life into period space.
Free-standing furniture and bespoke fabrics were selected to complement the interior architecture, adding a holistic design approach to the scheme.
Architecture
The basement extension comprises a dramatic 6m double-height ceiling. This creates spectacular volume with 120-degree panoramic skylight views to the rear south-facing garden above.
A bespoke 6m-tall blackened steel staircase links the mezzanine and ground floors to the basement floor, which comprises the main living and dining areas of the house.
Design Details
Designed in collaboration with MannMade London the bespoke kitchen is a destination for family and friends to gather and enjoy the vast double-height space.

Furniture Design
Bespoke furniture was integral to our holistic design approach.
