This house renovation and rear extension project is located in Wimbledon Village, London.
Our client provided a very particular design brief for this project and in their own words wanted a design aesthetic: “Where the Addams Family meets Minale + Mann.” Needless to say, we jumped at the chance.
The rear extension comprised a large expanse of glass and steel to maximise daylight. It also beautifully frames the views of the garden beyond. Bold interior architectural features and rich textured furniture stand out amidst the large, open spaces inside.
Painted exposed steel runs throughout the lower ground floor to seamlessly blend the architecture with the interiors.
Designed in collaboration with MannMade London, the kitchen continues the dark rich tones of the lower ground floor., made from bespoke Richlite units with emerald green counter tops and brass ironmongery.
With views extending through the dining area and into the garden, the snug front room can be seen from either side of the kitchen. This provides a visual openness to the layout on this floor.
A bold scheme was conceived for this project using rich deep colours, flamboyant decorative detailing and statement features. The interior elements reflect a blend of Victorian and Gothic style, set within a contemporary layout.
Bespoke built-in furniture has been spray-painted to match the interior colour palette. All custom pieces are designed and made by MannMade London.
Contemporary Gothic-inspired lighting delivers a soft glow to the reception rooms, set against a backdrop of decorative wall panelling.
